There comes a time when teenagers leaves their shell of college behind and steps into the real world and it is always better to be dressed for the job you want, here are the items you need to get rid of and replace the with these newer polished pieces, so you can be that chic lady who is always impeccably dressed, by just replacing a few items.

1. Replace your canvas backpack with an adult backpack, like leather ones with girly detailing on them.

Backpacks are back in fashion and are the perfect travel buddy or your go-to bags for weekends.

2. Replace your flannel with a denim jacket

Get a structured denim jacket in a neutral color, it is a chic and an adult way to layer anything and everything!

3. Out with the denim skirts and in with the full skirts or circle skirts

Though the 90's are having a major revival the ripped denim skirts have been done to death and need to be given a break. If not styled right your denim skirt can look rather trashy. Replace your denim skirt with a full skirt or circle skirt. Pair the circle skirt with a basic V-neck for a day time look and a shirt or blouse to take it for a night out!

4. Replace your flip flops with  flats

Your flip flops are best left in your college dorm bathroom, don't take them to work! Try a pair of light flat sandals or berkin stocks instead.

5. Replace your hoodie with a comfy cozy and chic bomber jacket

No matter how attached you are to that hoodie, that kept you warm during those cold classes when the AC was blasting, it is time to bid adios to it. Put your adult pants on, and switch to bomber jackets, they look a lot chicer and classy and can advance any outfit.

6. Out with the leggings and in with the trousers!

Like the great Blair Waldroff once said, "leggings are not pants". So don't pair your leggings like trousers, leave them in your yoga room and gym. Go for a pair of structured high waist pants or seamed trousers for a formal look.

7. Replace your trusty old plastic watches for leather or metal ones

A great outfit can be ruined if you wear a watch that is not good enough! Get rid of your plastic strap digital watches, that you wore to exams to time your answers. Invest in a classy leather or metal strap watches for a more mature and classier look.

8. Out with the converse and invest in a good pair of white sneakers

You might be the be the proud owner of your all star converse that you wore with everything, but it is time to leave them behind and up your weekend dressing style game with a pair of classy sneakers
