It is not always necessary to buy the most expensive of items to look chic and put together. Here are some sneaky tips and tricks for girls who have a very expensive taste but don't always have the money to spend on items like those. This is how you can trick people into thinking that you spend a bomb on your look when you actually shopped on a budget.

1. Know your personal style

When you know your own personal style, you know what looks, styles and trends look good on you. So you can go for cheaper options as well as you know you can carry them off and you don't end up impulse shopping and waste money on pieces that will keep lying in your wardrobe.

2. Stick to solid colors

You can style solid color pieces in multiple ways and makes looks out of them that look refined and elegant as compared to a T-shirt that cost 8 times the price but ends up looking the same.

3. Clean out your closet before shopping

Always clean out or have a good look at what is in your closet before going shopping so you don't end up buying stuff that you already own or anything close and similar.

4. Look for deals, sales, coupons.

Before buying an item online always check for coupons and discounts for that e-retail website or brand. There are many dedicated coupon and discount websites that always have ongoing coupon and discount codes throughout the year. Try to pick up transitional pieces during the end of season sale.

5. Avoid many prints and bright colors

If you want a classic elegant and elevated style on a budget then avoid prints and bright colors in the cheaper fabric section. If the fabric is already low quality and you add print to the mix, the quality of the item will start looking cheaper and the low quality starts to show.  starts to show.

6. Stick to classic fits

Some pieces are really questionable no matter what the price point is, if it is really tight, short, there is a lot of ruching or too much cleavage showing it will do no good to you but just highlight how cheaply made the garment was.

7. Go one size up

If you really want to ensure that you get the loose fashionable fit then always go a size up. Also, a size loser can always be altered and tailored to the right size but a size smaller seldom has enough margin to become loose.

8. Basic pieces

Styling classic basic pieces are very hard to mess up. Hence, it is always a safer bet to stick with basic pieces. A trick to creating a great wardrobe on a budget is to invest in pieces that you can mix and match hence solid color basic pieces like a striped top, black V-neck or denim shirt are a good option.

Basics are not really stand out pieces so it is always all about your total look vs any one statement piece.

9. Don't spend money on trends

Trends come and go with every season. Hence, it does not make sense spend a lot of money on a trendy item as it will not last you forever, Instead, it is better to go buy similar items of the trend from cheaper retail stores.

10. Bags and Accessories

Accessories, Bags, and purses in solid colors that are very geometric with sharply structured edges are always a good bet as they look very high-end and give off an expensive style appearance.
