It is time for brighter and sunnier days, as we sip on a refreshing drink, soak in the sun and dip into the pool for a cool swim, we might just look our stylish best while doing it. Here is a list of 9 trends you must try this summer:

1. Matrix Sunglasses

Rihanna stepped out wearing these at Cannes 2017 and these pair of sunnies have been a ragging hit ever since. The matrix sunglasses are chic, vintage and cool and instantly give your look a mysterious vibe, almost like you're out on a mission. So what's your mission this summer?

2. Pearl Hair accessories

As the sun comes up so do our hair! But this summer does not restrict yourself to boring high ponytail's or shabby top knot's, instead go for a chic bun and make it look super stylish and put together by accessorising it with the hit hair accessory of the season- pearls.

3. Side slit wide legged pants

This multi-purpose pair of pants is trending big this season. There are two ways of wearing this trend open the side for a sexy look or button up the side for a normal look.

4. One-Shoulder Swimsuits

After much hoo-ha about off shoulder, it is time for the one shoulder trend to shine on. While last summer the totally chic and impractical trend of off shoulder swimsuits was everywhere, this summer it is all about one shoulder. One shoulder swimsuits are flattering, look chic and are actually practical enough to swim in.

5. Gen-Z Yellow

For months now, as we scrolled through our Instagram feed we would see people posting pictures wearing a salmon-y pink colour and hues of baby pink. It was like a walk through an aesthetically pleasing pink garden. Well, its time to break that pink monotony as the sun is shining upon us (quite literally) and hues of yellow aka Gen Z yellow is the colour of the season.

Just like Millenial Pink was not just one colour but a new age term for an amalgamation of all things pink, similarly,  Gen-Z yellow includes things in bright, sunny yellow, muddy, mustardy yellow, and nearly-fluorescent yellow.

6. Sequins

It will be an understatement to say that sequin and sparkles are a big deal this summer. Spend your summer nights sipping refreshing cocktails and dancing the night away soaking in a slinky blingy dress or a pair of sequin shorts paired with a basic top or shirt. You can also invest in sequin t-shirts for longevity.

7. The 1980s

While we were fretting that after the 1990s ruled 2017, it would be 2000s in 2018, it was a big sigh of relief to see designers seek inspirations from 1980s for summer trends in 2018. So it is time you rewatch your favourite movies from the 1980s and seek all the fashion inspiration you can because that decade is back. Oversized jackets, power shoulders, exaggerated collars and more are the trends that have risen from the 80s.

8. Bum Bags

The touristy fanny packs are a fashion game changer this season as this nerdy piece of accessory is now stylish and cool. Also, know as the bum bag or belt bag, this is what everyone will be using to cinch their waist and carry their essentials.

9. Pastel Colours

If you are Netflix and chill kinda girl then you know that the series "Balck Mirror" is a rage and their story "Nosedive" gave us an insight into the future of human validation as well as the future fashion. "Aesthetics" and "Pinterest perfection" are trends of the future and your outfit forever has to be "insta shot" worthy. Hence, making the trends of pastels stay. As pretty as an ice cream, next year's spring wardrobes can expect to be bursting with pale hues from yellow, to purple, green to pink.
