Kate Middleton pairs Princess Diana's 'Lover's Knot' tiara with an Alexander McQueen gown & makes a statement
The Duchess of Cambridge looked like an absolute stunner in a navy gown as she arrived at the Buckingham Palace for the Queen's Diplomatic Reception.
The annual Diplomatic Corps reception took place at the Buckingham Palace in London last evening. At the event, The Dutch and Duchess of Cambridge - Prince William and Kate Middleton were also present greeted the guests looking grand. The Queen, Prince Charles and more than 1,000 guests were also present at the reception.
For the event, Middleton put her most glamorous foot forward. She picked out a navy Alexander McQueen gown made from velvet. Her outfit bore a sweetheart neckline and stiff shoulder pads to give her outfit some definition and sturdiness. She paired this with sparkly silver-drop earrings and one of the Queen's silver neckpieces. She also picked out a stunning tiara - the Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara belonging to Princess Diana and was given to her on the late Princess' wedding day. Kate wore the tiara for the same event last year as well.
She completed her outfit with the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order on her sash and a ribbon pinned on her chest.

The Duchess was in high spirits as she chatted with guests through the evening and accompanied her husband and the Queen to meet and greet the guests. Middleton gave off Cinderella vibes in this outfit. We love how she sported the velvet dress, a trend that is really big right now. She looked ravishing in the figure-hugging dress, perfect for the occasion.
