Versace is a fan favourite ever since the inception of the fashion house. With celebrities obsessing over the brand, Versace has managed to stay on top of its game and the Italian luxurious brand has once again won heart all across the globe with this new protocol.

The Italian fashion queen and Versace’s creative director, Donatella Versace, told a leading magazine that it would stop the practise of using fur in their clothes.

“Fur? I am out of that,” Donatella said. “I don’t want to kill animals to make fashion.

“It doesn’t feel right.” The new moral adaptation is a welcoming change as the brand has previously resisted pressure to join various fashion houses like Calvin Klein, Armani, Ralph Lauren who have already ditched fur and have stopped using it in their collection. The luxury house in the past has not shied away from using furs of animals like, racoon dogs and foxes.

There are various rumours afloat which suggest that Versace is looking for a new creative director in order to relieve pressure and burden off Donatella’s shoulders. The reigning creative head said, “Somebody came up to me recently and said, ‘there will be a huge crisis if you leave – it will be a fashion disaster!’ Can you believe that?...Yes I am Versace. But also Versace needs to mean change. And it needs to be an opportunity for others to express themselves.” Donatella Versace gave a new meaning to her brother’s legacy and vision. She was and will be one of the most influential figures in the fashion industry.
