Thalapathy 67: Lokesh Kanagaraj confirms his next with Vijay, says film's going to be 'mass & class'

After working together in Master, the actor-director duo Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj will once again join forces for the untitled project which will be a combination of mass and class.

The wait is finally over, and the dream team of Master, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Vijay will be working together again on the project temporarily tiled, Thalapathy67. The director was quoted saying yesterday at an event that the film will be a combination of mass and class.

Previously Pinkvilla had exclusively learned that Vijay and Atlee will be reuniting for a feature film, the shooting for which is likely to kick off in 2023. Our sources had revealed, “It was about time for the Vijay and Atlee combo to return. After three successful collaborations, their fourth will be yet another action-packed entertainer. In the pandemic, Atlee has locked the basic premise of this film and is gearing up to take it on floors once he completes his work on Shah Rukh Khan’s next". “The Shah Rukh Khan film will be shoot at regular intervals from April to November. After that, Atlee will switch to post-production of the same to get the final print-ready by March/April 2023. Once that’s done, he begins prep work on his next with Thalapathy Vijay, which kicks off by mid of next year,” the source added.

It is believed that this venture will be financed by the production house AGS Entertainment. They previously worked with the duo on the 2019 action drama, Bigil. The lethal combination of Vijay and Atlee is also responsible for blockbusters Their and Mersal. Meanwhile, further details about the film's cast and crew are still unknown.

Vijay is also working on Thalapathy66 with Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady. The shoot for this Vamshi Paidipally's directorial has already commenced. Touted to be an emotional drama, the star will be seen in the 90s avatar in his next. Ace composer, S Thaman is onboard the team as the music director. The makers have also erected a massive set in Chennai for an upcoming schedule of the movie.
