Selvaraghavan’s Nenjam Marappathillai lands in trouble; Madras High Court stays release
Earlier, it was announced by the makers of the thriller that the film will hit the big screens on March 5.
In what has come as an unexpected twist, the Madras High Court on Tuesday ordered an interim stay on the release of Selvaraghavan's upcoming movie Nenjam Marappathillai. The film was scheduled for release on March 5 amid huge expectations. The court issued the order after hearing a plea filed by M/s Radiance Media Pvt Ltd. As per the reports, the producer had planned for the release without paying off the loan during the release of Ennai Nokki Payum Thotta.
The petitioner sought the court to order a stay for the film’s release till the production house pays back the remaining principal amount along with the interest. A couple of weeks back, the makers of Nenjam Marappathillai had shared that the film will hit the big screens on March 5. Along with the announcement, the makers also released a promo, following which the film made the headlines.

Meanwhile, Selvaraghavan is currently busy with the shooting of his next film with Dhanush titled Naane Varuven. When he announced the film, it made the fans go gaga as it marks a collaboration with the director-actor duo after a long time. It has Yuvan Shankar Raja on board as the music composer, while Kalaippuli S Thanu’s V Creations is bankrolling the project. Other than this, Selvaraghavan also announced that he will be directing the second installment of the cult classic Aayirathil Oruvan, with Dhanush in the lead role. Meanwhile, Selvaraghavan is also making his acting debut with the film Saani Kaayidham, that has Keerthy Suresh as the leading lady.
