Southern director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Hindi film Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead role is much in the limelight for all the right and wrongs reasons. While the film is earning massive at the box office, Sandeep has hit the headlines over his controversial statements on the criticism received by the audience and critics for Kabir Singh. However, Samantha Akkineni is quite disturbed with Sandeep’s reaction to his film’s criticism. The Telugu actress recently took to Instagram story and reacted to the bits from the interview as, “Deeply disturbing.”
In an interview with Anupama Chopra, post the release of Kabir Singh, Sandeep Reddy reacted to all the negative comments on Kabir Singh. The director also spoke about how critics have attacked the film. He said, "When you are deeply in love and deeply connected to a woman (and vice versa), if you don’t have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don’t see anything there."
He further added that the women, who had said they were uncomfortable during a few shots in the film, had never experienced real love. "I feel that they were never in love, probably they've never experienced it in the right way."
Despite criticisms over the kissing and slapping scenes in the film, Kabir Singh has crossed Rs 200 crore mark worldwide at the box office. "When I started this film, I knew it would be a big success at the box office, but I never thought that the rage would be repeated, and it has multiplied four times now," Vanga said about the success of the movie.

Kabir Singh is an official remake of Telugu blockbuster film, Arjun Reddy. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead role.
