Actress and singer Shruti Haasan, who is a passionate singer recently paid a musical tribute to her father Kamal Haasan as he completed 60 years in Indian Cinema. The stunning actress, who has been pursuing music simultaneously along with her acting commitments, left everyone spellbound with her singing as she paid tribute to her father at an event in Chennai. The event was attended by who's from the South Indian Film industry. Shruti Haasan performed in front of the Kollywood biggies like Rajinikanth, Vijay Sethupathi among others.
Elaborating on the same, a source adds, "Shruti sang some of Kamal Sir’s most famous Tamil songs during her 6-minute tribute. It was a lovely gesture and all the members in the audience loved the performance. It was a landmark year for Kamal Sir and the event showed the respect and regard everyone has for him." It was a grand evening to celebrate Kamal Haasan's Ungal Naan. Haasan's younger daughter Akshara also grooved to some of the popular songs of his father.
On the work front, Shruti will be seen opposite Vijay Sethupathi in Laabam. Set in the pre-Independence British era, the film will see the actress in the role of a musician. Directed by SP Jhananathan and will release in early or mid-2020.
