The much awaited action thriller iSmart Shankar starring Ram Pothineni finally hit the theatres recently and is doing well at the box office. The performance of the actors in the film is being applauded by the audience. With Mani Sharma's music and Puri Jagannadh's amazing dialogues, the film is expected to do good business. The film's story is being compared to Adam Randall's 'iBoy'.
However, looks like Puri Jagannadh’s project is in a problem. Tollywood and Kollywood actor Jai Akash has filed a complaint against the film iSmart Shankar and the producer-director Puri Jagannadh with the Tamil Film Producers Council on the basis of plagiarism. The film has landed up into a lot of controversies and has become the talk of the town. In fact, during the shoot, many social activists were offended by Ram using a cigarette publicly and stated that the actor is setting a bad example for his fans.
Recently, Jai Akash revealed in an interview that the film's plot is similar to his Tamil film Naan Yaar. Jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmee Kaur, the film ‘iSmart Shankar’ revolves around the story of an aggressive street-smart guy who gets a mobile SIM card inserted into his head under mysterious situations. Actresses Nabha Natesh and Nidhhi Agerwal played the female leads in this commercial entertainer.
