Arjun Reddy fame Vijay Deverakonda’s next Hero goes on floors with a pooja ceremony. The film will see the actor opposite Malavika Mohanan and is being directed by Anand Annamalai. The film marks Anand's debut as a director. The shooting of the film goes on floors today and none other than director Koratala Siva graced the launch event. The makers of the film took to Twitter and shared a few photos from the launch event today. Vijay looks stylish as ever in traditional avatar while Malavika looks stunning in a pastel sari.

Hero will see Vijay playing a professional biker and will be undergoing rigorous training for the role. On the other hand, Malavika who was last seen in Rajinikanth starrer Petta will be seen opposite Vijay Deverakonda for the first time. Daughter of renowned cinematographer KU Mohanan, Malavika made her acting debut opposite Dulquer Salman in a 2013 Malayalam film titled Pattam Pole. Malavika Mohanan was also seen in Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi's Beyond the Clouds opposite Bollywood star Ishaan Khatter. Fans are now eagerly waiting to catch Vijay and Malavika’s fresh pairing on the big screen. To be released in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada, Hero will be bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers.

While the groundwork for Hero has kick-started, Vijay Deverakonda is also busy with his upcoming film, Dear Comrade opposite Rashmika Mandanna.
