It was reported yesterday that the Tamil remake of Badhaai Ho will have RJ Balaji as the lead actor. Now, a new report has come up stating that the film will have Priya Anand playing the leading lady. She was last seen in Dhruv Vikram's Adithya Varma. It was also reported recently that the film is likely to go on floors in the first week of April. Bankrolled by popular producer Boney Kapoor, the film will be made in all the South Indian languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

It is also reported that RJ Balaji will direct the film, and just like his previous directorial, he will be co-directing the film along with NJ Saravanan. An official announcement, however, is still awaited regarding the same. It is anticipated that Sathyaraj will be seen playing a key role in the film. Badhaai Ho narrated the story of a 25-year-old youth, whose life takes an unexpected turn after he finds out about his parents’ pregnancy.

According to a report in India Today, Boney Kapoor had revealed about the remake rights during an earlier interview. The English Daily’s website quoted him as saying, "I have acquired the rights to all the South languages. It's a film that resonates with both the masses and classes so I was keen on remaking it. The Hindi version has done extremely well in the heartland, in fact, across the country, and I am confident the reception down South will be as overwhelming. I am yet to decide whether the Tamil or the Telugu version go on the floors first as it's work in progress."
