Shoaib Akhtar urges the Men in Blue to help Pakistan qualify for Semi Finals in ICC World Cup 2019
The win against New Zealand strengthened Pakistan’s chances for qualifying into the semi-finals of the on-going World Cup tournament.
Pakistan registered a solid 6 wickets victory against the Black Caps on Wednesday, 26th June at Edgbaston cricket ground. The Men in green faced numerous questions and trolls post the loss against the arch-rivals India at Manchester but the team bounced back in the tournament and showed its consistent effort in the last two matches. The team is struggling hard to move ahead in the race of semi-finals and the former Pakistani bowler, Shoaib Akhtar asks for India’s help in their chase.
In his Youtube channel, the former Pakistani bowler appealed to the Men in Blue to help Pakistan by winning their match against England. If India wins against England, England will be knocked out of the tournament and Pakistan will qualify for the semis with 11 points, said Shoaib.
The fast bowler stated that he feels Pakistan has made a really good comeback but now it’s India’s time to wake up. “You’ll have to help us. Defeat England, and we’ll win our two matches so we can face you in the semi-finals and defeat you there.” He added.
He also mentioned that one must never corner Pakistan cricket team. He said that once they are cornered; they will come back and hurt you and will strike you down. He also added that the one big match against Bangladesh will either bring the team massive respect or massive humiliation. It will be a very dangerous game.
Pakistan will next encounter Afghanistan on Saturday, 29th June at Headingley Carnegie, Leeds.
