Sachin Tendulkar is disappointed with MS Dhoni & Kedar Jadhav’s lack of intent in match against Afghanistan
Indian cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar reveals that he is disappointed and unhappy with MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadav’s slow display of batting in a high pressure match against the Afghans.
MS Dhoni who was required to play an aggressive knock at the time when the entire batting line-up crumbled against the Afghan bowlers, scored only 28 runs off 52 balls in the match. Kedar Jadhav on the other hand, managed to score a half century (52 off 68 balls) and was the second highest run-scorer for the team. However, Indian stalwart, Sachin Tendulkar was disappointed with these two Indian players for their lack of positive intent in the match against Afghanistan.
Speaking to ‘India Today’, Sachin revealed that he felt slightly disappointed and it could have been much better. He was unhappy with the slow partnership between Dhoni and Kedar and said that there was no positive intent at all. The team batted 34 overs of spin bowling and scored 119 runs, he added. Sachin felt that the intent could have been much better by the middle order batsmen.
He further added that Kedar was under pressure and had not had an outing up until now. “He needed someone to take charge of the situation early on but that did not happen.” He said.
Speaking of the pressure situation that Jadhav was in, Sachin said that both MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav were not able to play at the required strike rate that they would have wanted. He felt that those in between overs could have been better and that’s the reason that Kedar was under a bit of pressure.
