Sridevi's MOM is heading towards its release and the actress is all into promoting mode. The trailer has created quite a buzz as the plot is quite intense. The film follows the story of a mother, Devaki (played by Sridevi) and her teenage daughter Arya, where the former is seen struggling to save the latter in some way.
Today, Sridevi has reached to Delhi to promote the film with husband Boney Kapoor. While Sridevi looked pretty in her blue and red striped shirt dress, Boney wore a white shirt, denim and formal black shoes. The two were given a warm welcome at the venue.
At the trailer launch, Sridevi revealed, "For three months, I did not speak to Boney Ji as a husband. I used to greet him good morning and after pack up, I used to wish him goodnight- that’s all we spoke. That was the only conversation I had with him."
She also added, "During the shooting, I stopped talking to Boney Ji. I used to bully Boney I, I would wish him good morning and goodnight and that’s the only conversation I had with him because I wanted to be in my character and to be in my character shoes."
In a recent interview, she opened up on why did she take MOM? She said, "Has to be the plot. And the relationship between the mother and daughter, it touched me. And, like I said, I always go by my instincts. I thought Mom would be the right film for me, right now."
She added, "I am a mother, I know exactly what the character is going through. I can relate to that. I could feel for the character in Mom. She is a strong mother, devoted to her children and she goes to any extent for her children’s sake. These are the qualities you like and you would love to show on screen as well."
The movie will be releasing nationwide in three other languages including Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam besides Hindi. Speaking about it, producer Boney Kapoor said, “One of India's biggest superstars of all time, Sridevi, has completed over 50 years in the film industry and has a massive fanbase. Her fans are eagerly anticipating her films and the distributors especially down south too have been massively supporting her films.
Ever since the teaser of the film released online distributors have been clamouring for it and sent several requests to the makers asking for the film to be dubbed in south languages. Owing to this the film will also be dubbed and release in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam apart from Hindi."
MOM happens to be Sridevi's 300th film and 2017 marks her 50th year in films.
