MS Dhoni was criticised for his slow run rate and lack of positive intent in the team’s previous two matches against the hosts and Bangladesh. However, in the midst of all the criticism and questioning, the pain he was going through went unnoticed. The former Indian Skipper played with an injured thumb and spat blood in the match against England.

Indian Cricket team faced their first defeat in the tournament against the hosts on Sunday and it was none other than MS Dhoni, in the midst of all the questioning from the fans, experts and former cricketers. The 37 year old batsman was criticised for not delivering in the middle and struggling to smash boundaries in the beginning of his innings when India was in a crucial position against the English bowlers.

MS Dhoni played an innings of 42 runs in 31 deliveries with a strike rate of 135.48 against the hosts. Prior to this he was also criticised by the former cricketers and experts for his slow paced innings against Afghanistan and now against Bangladesh as well. Against Bangladesh, where the team registered a spot in semis and won by 28 runs, MS Dhoni scored 35 runs off 33 deliveries with a strike rate of 106.06.

However, this picture went viral on twitter and fans were all in praises for his commitment and dedication towards the sport. Let’s have a look at few of the tweets.
