Mr. Queen has done it again! This whacky and hilarious gender-swap (a la Secret Garden of Joseon era) had audiences in splits. In a recent interview with Sports Trend, lead actors Kim Jung Hyun and Shin Hye Sun agreed in unison that there were happy to make viewers laugh in these difficult times. Well, it seems like the viewers are mighty impressed as the series has struck gold with the cable ratings!
According to a report by Nielsen Korea, via Soompi, Mr. Queen's finale episode on February 14 recorded the highest ratings yet. The final episode of Mr. Queen scored an average nationwide rating of 17.4 per cent and a peak of 19.3 per cent, taking first place in its time slot across all channels (including public broadcast networks). That is not all, it set a new personal record as the show that ranks fifth highest-rated drama in tvN history, bested by recorded breaking dramas like Crash Landing On You, Guardian: The Lonely And Great God, Reply 1988 and Mr Sunshine. Meanwhile, there is another series that is on a record-breaking spree. TV Chosun's marriage drama Love (Ft Marriage and Divorce) broke its own record for the highest drama ratings ever achieved in the channel's history. The latest episode of the drama marked an average nationwide rating of 9.7 per cent, setting a new record for TV Chosun and Love (Ft Marriage and Divorce).
Meanwhile, KBS 2TV's melodrama Homemade Love Story enjoyed a rise in viewership from its previous episode the night before. The emotional drama scored an average nationwide rating of 31.0 per cent and 32.8 per cent for its two parts.
