MS Dhoni has been in the midst of controversies regarding his slow run rate in the on-going ICC World Cup 2019 tournament. Several questions were raised about the former Indian skipper and 2011 World Cup winning captain on his lack of positive intent in the past few matches of the tournament. However, former Australian cricketer, Michael Clarke has full faith in the Indian cricketer and believes that he is about to play a big knock in the semi-finals or the finals of the tournament.

Speaking to ‘India Today’, Clarke said that people haven’t learnt by now to not doubt MS Dhoni. He stated that MS Dhoni is the greatest finisher to ever play this game. “I will say this... over and over and over again. You don't doubt greatness. And MS Dhoni is a great,” Clarke added.

However, MS Dhoni hasn’t been able to create an impact with his batting in the on-going World Cup tournament. Clarke said that right now, the Indian team is firing without MS Dhoni. He also advised the team to not waste him now and save him when the team really needs him the most. “I will say this... over and over and over again. You don't doubt greatness. And MS Dhoni is a great,” he added. He also mentioned that you would be really silly to write him off as an opposition player or Captain.

The Men in Blue who have already claimed their spot in the semi-finals of the tournament will play their last league match against Sri Lanka on Saturday, July 6 at Headingley Carnegie, Leeds.
