India vs Pakistan, ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: Virat Kohli has an important message for Team India's fans

Team India's skipper Virat Kohli was in total control while addressing the media before their clash against arch rivals Pakistan. India enjoy a 6-0 record in World Cup tournaments but Pakistan beat Team India in the final of the Champions Trophy in 2017.

Kohli stressed upon the fact that his team was focused on exactly as to what was needed to be done. He said," We are not focusing too much on what the opposition has to do. We need to believe in our strengths. If we play well, then we play really well as a team, and can beat any side in the world. We saw that in the first two games that we played and that's the type of confidence we have carried, and we want to continue in the same manner on the upcoming games as well."

When asked about how unpredictable Pakistan are as a team , Kohli said, "We are not focusing on the opposition, so far us no one is a threat. For us, no one player matters more than the other. It's about going into the park as Indian cricket team and taking on whichever team is in front of us. If we play well, we can beat any side. If you don’t play well, teams are going to beat you. That's how simple the game of cricket is."

When asked if Kohli would ask the fans to be as relaxed about the game as the Indian team, He said, "I can't tell the fans to think of the game in a particular manner. For us, it's a professional approach to the game. We can't get too emotional or too over-excited with any occasion that we play in. So obviously, the mindset of the player is always going to be different from the fans. You can't mix the two"

He further added that, "The best way to approach something  like this is to understand that the game starts tomorrow at a certain time, so it's not going to last a lifetime for you. That's the one thing that, as cricketers, always keeps you grounded, always keeps you focused".

On a personal front when asked about his battle against Pakistan's star pacer Mohammad Amir, Kohli said," I neither want to say something for TRP ratings nor I want to create any exciting news. When I am batting, I only see the red or white ball. One should respect the skill set of a bowler but one should also have the belief in one's ability to score runs against any bowler," he said.
