The cricket fans all around the globe witnessed the most thrilling World Cup final encounter on Sunday, 14th July. After winning the toss, the New Zealand skipper elected to bat first and the team registered 241 runs on board at the end of the first innings. However, England managed to score the exact same total and the match was carried forward in a super over.

England smashed 15 runs in 6 balls whereas, the Black Caps also only managed to score 15 runs in the super over, resulting in yet another tie in the game. However, England claimed the title as they scored more boundaries than the Black Caps in the match.

“What did they win it on, boundaries? While the emotions are raw, it’s pretty hard to swallow when two teams work so hard to get this moment in time,” New Zealand Skipper Kane Williamson said after the defeat. However, the Skipper accepted the defeat and mentioned that the rules are there from the start and that they would have probably never thought they would have to use them.

“Gutted, obviously. We put in a huge amount of work to get to the final and to pretty much do all we could,” said Kane. He also said that he has spoken a lot about uncontrollable and there were couple in the match which were hard to swallow. However, he further added that England are deserved winners and should take nothing away from them.
