ICC World Cup 2019: Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Amir urges the fans: Please don’t use bad words’
After getting defeated by their arch-rivals Indian team on Sunday, Pakistani cricketers were heavily trolled and received criticism from the fans.
The Pakistani team received severe criticism post their humiliating defeat against the Men in Blue. Several questions were raised on Sarfaraz Ahmed’s captaincy and his decision regarding the toss. The team was criticised for their below average performance and was trolled heavily post the match. Pakistan’s most prominent bowler, Mohammad Amir posted a tweet where he urged the fans to criticise their performance without using bad words. He tweeted as, ”Pls dont use bad words for the players yes u guys can criticise our performance we will bounce back InshAllah we need ur support.”
Despite the team’s poor performance in the tournament, Mohammad Amir has been exceptional with his bowling. He picked up 3 crucial wickets for the team in the middle order in his 10-over spell with an economy of 4.70. He was able to dismiss the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli and the power-hitters of the Indian cricket team, Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni. Against the defending champions, Amir claimed a 5-wicket haul and gave away just 30 runs in 10 overs. The only positive thing for the Pakistan team in the current World Cup tournament would be the exceptional form and abilities of their leading wicket taker, Mohammad Amir.
Pakistan has been struggling with their performance in international cricket over the years and currently ranks second last in the points table. The Men in Green will play its next match against South Africa on June 23 at Lord’s cricket ground.
