Indian batsman KL Rahul who scored a brilliant 57 of 78 balls against Pakistan says that he was happy to bat in top three.

India registered an 89 runs victory against the Men in Green on Sunday and both the openers, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul showcased a brilliant batting display. Rohit Sharma registered his second century in the tournament, whereas KL Rahul played a mature innings of 57 runs providing India a great start.

The Indian cricketer expressed his emotions of playing for the country against Pakistan. He said that even though he had to wait for his chance, he is absolutely happy that he got a chance to bat in the top three. He said that it was his first International game against Pakistan and it has come in a World Cup and he couldn’t have asked for anything better.

“As a kid or as a young cricketer growing up, this is what you dream to do. I'm really happy that I got the opportunity and I give myself six out of ten! Hopefully, I carry on the confidence and get better," KL added.

The Indian cricketer also praised the Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan and said that they have been a dangerous combo in the last three to four years. He added that they have played exceedingly well for the country and have owned the no. 1 and 2 positions in the team.

KL Rahul also admitted that the initial overs of the game were a fight and once they got through those, they felt more comfortable. He said that once you start focussing on the game, then all the pressure and hype of the India-Pakistan game and the World Cup stage goes away from you head.
