ICC World Cup 2019: David Warner admits he feels fresher post the one year ban from international cricket
After a year ban from International cricket, Australian cricketer, David Warner made a great comeback in the ICC World Cup 2019.
The Australian opener who smashed a powerful 166 runs against Bangladesh says that he feels a lot fresher after making a comeback. He said that you don’t usually get a year off, you hardly get couple of weeks off and have also admitted that it had been a dark year for Australian cricket.
He even mentioned that he had worked hard on his fitness and took his mind away from the game. He said that you just let your mind be at ease and you get enough time at home as well with family wish he seemed to enjoy a lot.
But despite all the positives that came for the Australian opener to calm him as a person, he also acknowledged that fact that it had been a dark year for the Australian cricket. As a team they just have to win matches for the country, doing the best they can. He said that they just can’t be complacent and comfortable. They have to keep moving forward, playing their best cricket.
David Warner who registered his 16th ODI hundred saw himself equal Adam Gilchrist’s record of hundred’s in this format. “I’m just so grateful for being able to have the opportunity to play for Australia and to be in the same sentence as Adam Gilchrist is fantastic and it’s overwhelming,” he added.
He further added that he wants to be remembered as someone who gives his 110 percent when he goes out on the field.
