The match was a delighting one for the batsmen of both the teams. There were some special innings played. Let’s go through the highlights.
David Warner’s sparkling 166 runs
It was another busy day for in-form David Warner. The Australian opener looked in a fabulous touch from the ball one. He started well and executed his innings ever better. No Bangladesh bowler found success as the southpaw showed no mercy to hit them all over the park. He made amazing 166 runs in 147 balls, including 14 fours and five sixes, helping Australia post 381 runs on board.
Mushfiqur Rahim’s fighting ton
Chasing the big total, Bangladesh lost opener, Soumya Sarkar early. However, Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan somehow managed to pull back the innings. The experienced duo formed 79 runs stand before the latter was removed. Mushiqur Rahim then started to pilot the chase as the right-handed batsman struck some beautiful shots. Wickets kept falling from the other end though he kept the battle on.
The Bangladesh wicket-keeper smashed a scintillating hundred, however, he couldn’t help his team run away with a win. He remained unbeaten on 102 runs off 97 balls.
