Zayn Malik's sister, who turned 17 on September 13, 2019, recently got married to boyfriend Martin Tiser. The traditional nikkah ceremony took place in their hometown Bradford, West Yorkshire on September 16, 2019, as revealed by the family members, including Zayn's mother, Trisha Malik. Present at the ceremony was Trisha, Zayn's dad Yaser Malik and sisters Doniya Malik, 28 and Waliyha Malik, 21.

However, MIA from the festivities was Zayn, who was last spotted clicking photos with fans in New York City. The A Whole New World singer's ex-girlfriend and supermodel Gigi Hadid showed her support to the Malik family by liking Trisha's IG post, which featured candid snaps of the newlyweds. Safaa looked gorgeous in a red wedding lehenga with gold and ruby jewellery while her hands were adorned in Mehendi. On the other hand, Martin wore a simple white sherwani with a golden collar.

Many fans criticized Safaa for getting married at such a young age to which Martin took to his Instagram Stories to post a message thanking the supporters for defending the couple. According to Daily Mail, Martin wrote, "Thanks to all of you who support us. We so appreciate about that. But bullying us it's not good guys. Stop it Saffy reading all your comments.!!! @safaamalik."
