WWE RAW: Ricochet earns AJ Styles respect amidst an incredible match
Post winning the United States Championship at Stomping Grounds 2019 against Samoa Joe, Ricochet had his work cut out for him when he had to wrestle AJ Styles during the main event of Monday Night RAW.
Stomping Grounds 2019 took place yesterday and everyone was talking about the main event between Seth Rollins and Baron Corbin for the Universal Championship. However, the WWE Universe was also talking about Ricochet, who proved to be the lone wolf as he fought bravely against Samoa Joe. Ricochet won his first WWE title as he beat Samoa Joe for the United States Championship with a 630 splash. After the match, Charlotte Flair, Carmella, Heavy Machinery and others congratulated Ricochet for his win.
While he was posing with his United States Championship, he was cornered by the returning AJ Styles along with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. AJ teased a match between the two and that is exactly what the fans got as the main event of Monday Night RAW. Ricochet was pitted against the Phenomenal One. When the match started, Luke and Karl came out but Styles surprisingly told them to leave. The match was a spectacular bout between the two wrestlers who showcased their talent significantly. However, Styles' expertise proved vital and the wrestler ducked a 630 splash from the One and Only and instead clubbed Ricochet with a Phenomenal Forearm and won the match.
