WWE RAW: AJ Styles REVEALS why he turned heel and attacked Ricochet with The Club

This week's episode of Monday Night RAW saw a bit of a paradigm shift as The Beast's advocate Paul Heyman took over as the Executive Director of RAW. The main event of RAW saw Ricochet go one-on-one again with the returning AJ Styles, for the United States Championship. Within the first three minutes of the match, AJ supposedly pinned Ricochet. However, a second referee came out to reveal that Ricochet's foot was under the bottom rope, hence the match was restarted.

Eventually, with a unique roll-up, Ricochet won the match and The Club (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) jumped on the apron and started mocking AJ. Styles stood between Luke, Karl and Ricochet while stating, "You know what your problem is? You're right." The wrestler then proceeded to punch Ricochet thus turning heel. The Club was reformed as AJ hit Ricochet with a Styles Clash. Styles took to Twitter to share a picture of The Club and tweeted, "It’s not in a far off country. It’s not in the history books or old videos. It’s here and now. #Raw @KarlAndersonWWE @LukeGallowsWWE"

After RAW ended, AJ turned to his Mixer live-streaming account to give an explanation on why he turned heel. He started off by saying that the world we live in, there aren't many people you can trust, but Styles does trust his family.

"And here's why. I feel like AJ Styles was stuck in this, 'I'm going to smile all the time, I'm going to be the nicest guy in the room even when I don't feel like it when I'm tired. He's going to be this guy' [mode]. I felt like I was in prison. And I just broke out," AJ added.
