Top Gun: Maverick’s trailer featuring Tom Cruise as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell was released on YouTube and has surely evoked a massive sense of nostalgia in people. The film is a sequel to 1986 Top Gun. Netizens are completely in love with it. Take a look.
A film that is loved by everyone is Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun which released in 1986. Now, 34 years later, Tom Cruise is back as the crazy, adrenaline lover, Pete Mitchell in Top Gun: Maverick. The trailer to Top Gun: Maverick was unveiled by Mr Cruise himself and it surely took fans by surprise as he shared the same at Comic Con 2019 at San Diego. Evoking a sense of nostalgia, Maverick is still the same adrenaline-loving fighter pilot in the sequel too.
From the bomber jacket to the aviators, Cruise takes us back to the old times yet ups the game in the trailer which was shared today. Ed Harris reminds Pete that, “The end is inevitable, Maverick, your kind is headed for extinction.” However, Maverick’s epic reply clearly states that even after 34 years, he still feels the need for speed. The trailer takes many of the fans back to the times of the old flick with a sense of new as well.

While some users can’t get over the fact that Tom Cruise still manages to look like his old self, many of the fans were reminded of the characters from the previous film. The film is helmed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Val Kilmer, Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell and Jon Hamm. The trailer also showcases the high-octane, power-packed stunts which Cruise performs with his fighter jet like a pro. Even the iconic race between Tom on his bike and a fighter pilot evoked a sense of nostalgia among fans. Top Gun: Maverick is slated to release on June 26, 2020.
