It has been just a few weeks since Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige announced that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be rolling the red carpet for its first female Thor. The Marvel producer announced that Natalie Portman would take on the legacy of Thor in MCU Phase 4. She will transform into the God of Thunder in Thor: Love And Thunder. The fourth Thor movie will see the actress reprise her role as Jane Foster before she takes over the mantel from Chris Hemsworth's Thor. The announcement was made at the San Diego Comic-Con a couple of weeks ago.

Soon after the announcement was made, the star teased that she will be beefing up for the role. Now Natalie took to her Instagram to give fans a sneak peek into her prep. No, she did not share a video of her transformation. Instead, she shared a bunch of Thor comics on her social media account. The video gave Thor fans a glimpse at the comic books she's reading to prepare for her role.

Spreading the comic books on her research table, she captioned the video, "Werk." The spread included different versions of The Mighty Thor. Comicbook.com notes that in the comics, Jane is diagnosed with breast cancer. The Mjolnir helps restore her strength. That led to Jane transforming into the Mighty Thor. During a battle, she sacrificed herself to save Asgardia from Magog. She was brought back to life by Thor and Odin. It is unclear which Thor comic Taika Waititi will adapt but Natalie has all her faith in him.

In fact, Feige spoke with CNN and revealed it took the actress just one meeting to jump on board of the movie. "We love the story -- it's one of the best comic runs recently. [Director Taika Waititi] would flip through and read that run while he was doing Ragnarok. And I think when he agreed to come back and do another Thor, he was like, 'How do we--?' This is a very big movie that'll be folding in a lot of elements. That is a huge important part of it. He pitched it to us, and we were totally in. We loved it. We'd been in touch with Natalie. She's part of the MCU family and we put she and Taika together. It took one meeting and she agreed to do it."

Thor: Love And Thunder is slated to release on November 5, 2021.
