At the time of Venom's release, fans were looking forward to watching the symbiotic alien with lethal abilities crossing paths with Tom Holland's Spider-Man. But Sony left fans disappointed with Spider-Man's absence from the 2018 release. With the Sony Pictures and Walt Disney Studios deal ending, there are chances Spider-Man would cross paths with Venom in the future Spider-Man/Venom movies. While this comes as a good sign for fans of the Marvel Comics characters, a report suggests that Venom and Spider-Man would have crossed paths in the first Venom movie if it weren't for Disney.

As reported by ComicBook.com, a recent Collider podcast claimed that Disney reportedly did not want the Venom and Spider-Man to intersect. The Mouse House punted on the idea before the final cut was made. However, with the deal off the table (for now), there are chances that Venom and Spider-Man could cross paths. Meanwhile, latest reports suggest Disney and Sony are renogitiating a deal again. ComicBookMovie.com contributor Mikey Sutton took to Facebook and revealed that the studios could be reaching a new agreement within a week's time. He also revealed that Holland has been given strict orders to not discuss the deal. "Tom Holland was given strict orders at a recent convention not to talk about the Sony-Disney dispute because he might end up spoiling sensitive information," he wrote on Facebook.

Reacting to the fallout, Holland had told Entertainment Weekly that he will continue to play Spider-Man. "Basically, we’ve made five great movies. It’s been five amazing years. I’ve had the time of my life. Who knows what the future holds? But all I know is that I’m going to continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life. It’s going to be so fun, however we choose to do it. The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and amazing, and we’ll find new ways to make it even cooler," he said. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
