Spider Man memorial set up outside D23 Expo after Sony and Disney divorce led to Tom Holland's exit from MCU
If you thought Spider-Man fans were done mourning over his exit from MCU, you're in for a shock. Marvel fans took to the D23 Expo and set up a memorial for Spider-Man after the Sony-Disney deal ended.
Spider-Man has gone far from home after Sony and Disney's deal reached an impasse earlier this week. Sony confirmed that Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige will no longer be a part of the upcoming Spider-Man movies. This also meant that Tom Holland's Spider-Man will not be in seen in future Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. Spider-Man's exit from MCU led to a meltdown on Twitter. Fans were shattered to learn that the teenage/young adult Spidey will not cross paths with Deadpool, X-Men, Doctor Strange or star in another Avengers movie.
As though fans did not mourn Spidey's exit enough on Twitter, Marvel fans took to the D23 Expo to set up a memorial for Spider-Man. We are not kidding. There is a framed photo of Tom Holland's Spider-Man with flowers and candles placed before. A piece of paper is placed before it which reads, "I belong with Marvel, not Sony!!!" The fan speaks on behalf of Spider-Man.

Fans aren't the only one who are begging Sony to return Spider-Man to Marvel Studios. Avengers: Endgame star Jeremy Renner took to his Instagram and asked Sony to return Spider-Man to Marvel. He wrote, "Hey @sonypictures we want Spider-Man back to @therealstanlee and @marvel please, thank you #congrats #spidermanrocks." Meanwhile, Holland hasn't reacted to the news yet. Instead, he went ahead and shared a few pictures with Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr and quoted Spider-Man's lines from Avengers: Endgame, "We did it Mr Stark!"
However, his father joined the MCU army in chanting, "Save Spider-Man." Do you think Sony should return Spider-Man to MCU? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
