Spider Man: Far From Home star Cobie Smulders debunks popular Avengers fan theory about Maria Hill
Cobie Smulders was asked about the hugely popular fan theory that her character Maria Hill has been a Skrull since The Avengers (2012). Read below to know what Cobie had to say to set the record straight on the fan theory.
*SPOILERS ALERT* While the mid-credits scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home had everyone shocked (Spider-Man's true identity revealed by Mysterio and the returning J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson), the post-credits scene also left many dazed and confused. It was revealed that Nick Fury and Maria Hill have been Skrulls throughout the entire duration of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Then came the popular fan theory that Maria Hill (played by Cobie Smulders) has been a Skrull since The Avengers (2012).
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cobie has finally set the record straight and shared her views on the fan theory. "Anything is possible. They could change it to be that way, but in my mind — no. I don’t know where she is, but my hope is that she’s on vacation somewhere," Smulders revealed. The actress added that in this world, Maria might be on some other mission. Since this world has suffered "utter chaos", it's all about picking up the pieces. Cobie also felt that the Skrull thing is a possibility.

But then there is also the point of Hill being too human or sassy till this point. "If someone was pretending to be her, she’d maybe be a little more robotic. So, it could go in any direction."
