Robert Pattinson was FURIOUS when Batman casting rumours leaked: Everyone was panicking from my team
It has been a few weeks since Robert Pattinson was named the new Batman. However, the Twilight actor was scared his opportunity to try for the role would get axed after the news about his possible casting leaked.
Unless you've been living in a cave, you would know that Robert Pattinson is the new Batman. The Twilight star will fill the shoes of Ben Affleck in the upcoming Batman movie directed by Matt Reeves. Pattinson is the second youngest actor to don the cape for a Batman movie. While the Warner Bros studio revealed the new face of Batman just a few months ago, the news about the production house reaching out to the actor had leaked long before.
Speaking with Variety, Pattinson recalled his reaction when the news about the possibility of the actor playing the new Batman made the headlines. The actor revealed that he was "furious" that the news had broken. He also revealed that the news was the talk of the town even before he had auditioned for the role and he was scared that this leak would scare WB away.
"When that thing leaked, I was f—ing furious. Everyone was so upset. Everyone was panicking from my team. I sort of thought that had blown up the whole thing," he told the publication. He really wanted to play the new Dark Knight. But the leak left him so worried, he was googling for reports that WB axed his chance at trying the superhero character.
“I was sitting next to Christopher McQuarrie. I’d never met him before. Oh, God! He’d seen me Googling myself for the past hour!” Pattinson explained, adding that he was giving the Mission: Impossible 6 director context of the situation. "No worries, I’d probably be doing the same thing," McQuarrie told Pattinson. Well, it seems like Pattinson was destined to play the Batman no matter what. Before he would don the cape, Pattinson will be seen in Lighthouse and Christopher Nolan's Tenet. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
