Robert Pattinson replaces Ben Affleck as the Batman. And Zack Snyder likes the casting.
After rumour mills went crazy speculating the next Batman, Warner Bros confirmed that Robert Pattinson will take on the legacy of Batman. The production house announced that the Twilight star will be filling the shoes of Ben Affleck. The actor is now the second youngest actor to don the cape for the Batman series. Following the announcement, fans have shared mixed reactions. While there are many who find the casting interesting, there are others who are not convinced by Robert replacing Ben. However, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder seems happy by the casting.
Although the filmmaker did not issue a statement or took to social media to share his reaction. He expressed his reaction in a different way. The director, who is active on social media platform Vero, liked a post making the announcement about the new Batman. This reaction has got fans thrilled. After all, Robert has got Zack's approval. This does mean it is a good sign.
Despite his distance from DC Films after he stepped down from Justice League, Zack has always tracked DCEU developments. He was all praise for Patty Jenkins for her work on Wonder Woman. He gushed about Jason Momoa in Aquaman.
Coming back to Batman, Variety reported that the deal was closed on Friday, officially bringing Robert on board. The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves, is slated to release on June 25, 2021. The movie is expected to enter the pre-production phase this summer.
