Piers Morgan stands by his nasty comments about Meghan Markle post quitting ITV; Says ‘I don’t believe her’
Piers Morgan recently broke his silence on his controversial storm off from ITV show Good Morning Britain, scroll down to see what the disgraced anchor had to say.
After coming under fire for his criticism of Meghan Markle, British TV personality Piers Morgan isn’t backing down from his previous statements. After leaving his job from ITV after being called out, the disgraced Good Morning Britain anchor tweeted out that he’s standing by the comments he made about the Duchess of Sussex and her tell-all interview alongside husband, Prince Harry, with Oprah Winfrey. “On Monday, I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview. I’ve had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don’t. If you did, OK. Freedom of speech is a hill I’m happy to die on. Thanks for all the love, and hate. I’m off to spend more time with my opinions,” Piers penned.
The tweet was accompanied by an image of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, alongside his own quote: “Some people’s idea of free speech is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back, that is an outrage.”
If you didn’t know, Piers was recently called out on live TV for constantly trashing Meghan Markle, his GMB co-host Alex Beresford also clapped back at Piers for his comments, and he then stormed off the set. While calling him out, Beresford said: “I understand that you don’t like Meghan Markle. You’ve made it so clear a number of times on this program—a number of times,” Alex said. “And I understand that you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle or had one and she cut you off. She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has but yet you continue to trash her.”
