Mark Ruffalo REVEALS he's never seen a more emotional response like with Avengers: Endgame & Infinity War
While appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Mark Ruffalo revealed that he has never witnessed a more emotional response as he did during the premieres of Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Watch the Dark Waters star's interview with Stephen Colbert below.
Mark Ruffalo has been extremely vocal amongst the several MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) actors to respond to criticism of Marvel movies by exemplary directors like Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola. "It isn’t the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being," Marty had shared with Empire when referring to these superhero films as "not cinema" and more like a "theme park." In his recent interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Mark disagreed with his Shutter Island (2010) director when it came to the emotional quotient of these movies.
"For those people, I would only say this: I have been to a lot of movies. I have even might have participated in some of those movies. I have watched those movies, I have never in my life seen the emotional response in a movie that I did in those two premieres (Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War), those two screenings," Ruffalo shared with Stephen Colbert and later added, "All these kids were bawling, crying, freaking out in the car. And that’s real emotion, I think." Before his comments, the 51-year-old actor also shared an incident when he took his son Keen Ruffalo and his friends for a screening of Avengers: Infinity War (2018).
After the movie was done, there was a kid in the theatre who tore off his shirt exclaiming how messed up his emotions were and that he wanted to go on a riot.
