The hunt for the new Wolverine is on, at least for the fans. Ever since Hugh Jackman hung his claws after the release of Logan in 2017, fans are eager to know who will play the next Wolverine. Several names have popped up ever since the Aussie actor kissed the X-Men character goodbye. The top choice has been Tom Hardy. The Venom actor has fans believing that he would be the perfect replacement for Jackman in the series. However, a new actor has now come out and showed interest in playing the Wolverine.

Who are we talking about? Well, Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa has recently shown his interest in playing the next Wolverine. The actor, who was last seen as DCEU's Aquaman in the standalone movie directed by James Wan, wants to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the help of the X-Men character.

MovieWeb reports that the actor was recently attending the Celebrity Fan Fest in San Antonio when he confessed he would "love" to play the Wolverine. The confession came after a fan in the crowd asked him about which Marvel character he would like to play. "I'd love to play Wolverine..." He added, "(Hugh Jackman) was phenomenal. I grew up just loving Wolverine." If ever Marvel Studios considers roping in Momoa as the X-Men character, he would bring to screen a different, more beefed up Wolverine to the big screen.

But it seems like it will be long before Marvel turns towards the X-Men universe. The Hollywood Reporter stated that Marvel Studios is in no hurry to bring the X-Men to the market. "There is no rush to bring the X-Men to the marketplace after this. And when they come back, it’s going to extend Marvel’s run another 10 years," the report read. But Marvel is expecting the X-Men will 10 years to MCU's lifespan.
