Janet Jackson has dominated the pop music industry for almost 4 decades now. As a prominent figure in the music industry, the star is all set to tell her story in the form of a two-part documentary. The project will capture the singer’s most notable career achievements and her unfortunate 'wardrobe malfunction’ controversy during her 2004 Super Bowl performance with Justin Timberlake.  The documentary titled ‘Janet’ will have the singer serve as an executive producer offering ‘unprecedented’ access into her personal life.

The documentary will be drawing light on her popular family background, including the demise of her father Joseph, and brother Michael. The project which took a total of 3 years to produce includes exclusive archival footage and not-seen-before home videos. Randy Jackson, A+E Networks' Miranda Bryant, and Workerbee's Rick Murray have also joined Janet in the making of her documentary. The documentary which is produced by the singer herself will be released on Lifetime. This stands as a major accomplishment as the singer completes 40 years in the industry.

Janet recently reacted to Timberlake after the latter apologized for the Super Bowl controversy. In an open letter posted on his social media, Timberlake addressed the wardrobe malfunction as well as the media negativity Britney Spears had to face because of him, stating he has ‘failed’ the ladies. Janet reacted to Timberlake’s apology stating, “I never in a million years, I would never think that this would happen. I really appreciate you and I love you so, so much. Thank you.” in a heartfelt video message.
