It's been quite a few weeks since Game of Thrones had its last ever episode aired to mixed reactions. *SPOILERS ALERT* Fans have been asking the big question of who wins the Iron Throne for almost a decade and hence, to see Drogon, Daenerys Targaryen's only surviving dragon, destroy the Iron Throne, raised many eyebrows. While some saw it as a sense of symbolism where a child mourns his mother's loss and destroys the very thing that led to her death, it also elicited several memes.

But, now we know the actual reason why Drogon destroyed the Iron Throne and it's something that may not satisfy all GOT fans' palette. According to the script of Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6 aptly titled The Iron Throne, which was made available to the public recently, the Iron Throne was just a "dumb bystander." The lines on the script read as, "We look over Jon's shoulder as the fire sweeps toward the throne-- not the target of Drogon's wrath, just a dumb bystander caught up in the conflagration."

What do you have to say about Drogon destroying the Iron Throne? Were you okay with it or you wanted someone to "literally" win the Iron Throne? Let us know your views in the comments section below.

Owing to the GOT finale episode script, we also know where Drogon takes Dany's body. "He heads out toward the eastern sky, flying over Blackwater Bay. It’s not a dusky beauty shot; it’s gray and lifeless, as befits a funeral," a section of the script reveals.

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones has earned 32 Emmy nominations for their final season which includes nods for Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey and others.
