SPOILER ALERT
Game of Thrones season 8's episode 2 was once again filled with reunions, emotional scenes and a sex scene. The latter involved Arya Stark and Gendry. And the same has been getting mixed reviews on the internet. After the scene, fans were quick to google Maisie Williams, as well as, her character's age as the intimate moment was the very first for her on the HBO show.
For the unversed, Williams is 22 and Arya is 18. One of the Twitter users tweeted, "Not gonna lie I looked up Arya real and real age BC I was a little grossed out." Another user tweeted, "I sure hope Arya was of age #GamesOfThrones."
HBO predicted this controversy and posted a no-spoiler tweet related to Arya's age before the episode's premiere. The tweet read as, "By age 18 in Westeros you should have:
- Had a pet.
- Moved out on your own.
- Travelled extensively.
- Had a kill list.
- Pretended to be the opposite sex to evade capture.
- Been blind for a while.
- Ticked at least three people off of your kill list.

Maisie, who had joined the show when she was 11 years old, recently, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly revealed that she thought that the scene was a joke as similar ‘tricks’ were played on other cast members as well. She said, “At first, I thought it was a prank. “I was like, ‘Yo, good one.’ And [they were] like, ‘No, we haven’t done that this year.’ She also revealed that the makers asked her to decide how much skin she wants to show. She said, "David and Dan were like, ‘You can show as much or as little as you want. So I kept myself pretty private. I don’t think it’s important for Arya to flash. This beat isn’t really about that. And everybody else has already done it on the show, so…. "
