Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3 Review: The most heartbreaking battle in GOT history

The Battle of Winterfell saw way too many deaths.

You are welcomed to an eerie set up just before the battle begins and the tensions are shown through Sam and Tyrion. Sansa, Arya and Ser Davos wait for the battle to begin as the dragons are all geared up. Jon Snow and Daenerys look on from above. Melisandre makes her return and casts a spell on the Dothraki's sword to add fire into the gameplan. She says Valar Morghulis to Greyworm and reunites with Ser Davos but not before watching over Arya. The battle has begun. 

As the Dothraki head towards the battle, suddenly they are seen coming back with a disheveled Ser Jorah. The real battle commences as the Dead army rises. Daenerys and Jon join the fight with her dragons. As Jon aims for the Night King, a ghastly wind takes over. Arya tells Sansa to go to the crypt. Sam is saved by Edd but the latter gets killed. Sansa goes to the crypt where Tyrion is there as well. It's fall back time for the living. Arya saves The Hound. Melisandre lights the trenches on fire, providing a barricade. Sansa and Tyrion have a light moment. Bran goes into the minds of the Ravens to see The Night King. The dead start falling into the fire to make way and the living man the walls. The Night King arrives with his dragon. The dead climb up the wall.

Arya fights the dead with her sword. The Hound goes to rescue Arya. Lyanna dies at the hands of the giant but not before killing him too. The Night King goes after Jon and Dany. Arya tricks the Dead who are now after her. Sansa and Tyrion are left terrified when they hear noises to open the door and suddenly there is silence. The Hound and Beric save Arya but Beric dies. Melisandre meets Arya. The dead surround Bran as Theon prepares for battle. The Night King and Jon Snow battle with the dragons. The Night King falls off. So does Jon. Dany lights fire on The Night King but he survives. Dany flees away. As Jon goes after The Night King, the latter arises the dead including Lyanna and Edd. The dead begin to enter the crypt. Dany returns to save Jon. Dany almost dies but is saved by Jorah. Sansa and Tyrion hide from the Dead.

The battle continues. The Night King arrives for Bran. Bran tells Theon that he is a good man. The Night King kills Theon. Arya kills The Night King. Jorah dies in the arms of Dany. Melisandre dies.
