If there is one character on Game of Thrones, whose character development has been stupendous throughout the eight seasons, it's Jamie Lannister (played by Nikolaj Coster Waldau). From being the ruthless Kingslayer in love with his sister to travelling to Winterfell to fight for the living alongside his trusted aide, Ser Brienne of Tarth, Jamie went from being the most hated to the most loved, in time. During the Battle of Winterfell, which takes place in season 8 episode 3 of GOT, Jamie may have to do the unthinkable to truly complete his character arc.

There have been many theories floating on the web of how Jamie Lannister might become Azor Ahai, the Prince Who Was Promised. However, to do so, Jaime will have to plunge his sword into the heart of his beloved which happens to be Cersei Lannister. However, Cersei is currently cooped up in King's Landing so the second option would be Ser Brienne of Tarth, a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. While it's still unsure if Jaime's feelings for Brienne are platonic or romantic, there is definitely love existing between the two. It was evident in season 8 episode 2 of Game of Thrones when Jaime knighted Brienne.

This fan theory has been suggested by a Reddit user who conspired, "I think there is a perfect way for the show to reveal this in the next episode. During the battle of Winterfell, Brienne the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, having her story arc complete (and because she smiled), will die and come back as a Wight. Jaime will be devastated, but he'll fight and defeat zombie-Brienne. When he pulls his sword from her chest, the sword will become Lightbringer."

"This will establish that Jaime is THE hero, and also that he truly loved Brienne. A perfect way to establish Jaime's role and feelings towards Brienne," the fan theory continued.
