Jaime Lannister could be The Prince That Was Promised in the coming episodes of Game of Thrones.

*SPOILERS AHEAD* The Battle of Winterfell has come and gone and there are so many takeaways from the bone-chilling episode. Ultimately, it was our lone wolf Arya Stark who won the war for the living and killed The Night King. The major disappointments were Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, who were considered to be the ones to end the great war. Jaime Lannister and Ser Brienne of Tarth fought valiantly and survived but were not the major focus of attention, like predicted in episode 2.

Many thought they would be saying goodbye to either Jaime or Brienne, where one sacrifices themselves for the other. There were also speculations of Jaime plunging a knife in Brienne's heart to become Azor Ahai, The Prince Who Was Promised. But, that did not happen. However, there was one sequence which caught our eyes, however small the moment was. During the initial battle sequence, when Sam was almost dying, Edd saves him. The shot then shifts to a fighting Jaime amongst the flames! The way Sam looks at him; you know the Maester knows something. Could it be foreshadowing? Well, only time will tell.

However, one thing's for sure, Jaime will have a very important role to play in the last war between Dany and his beloved Cersei Lannister. Question is, who will win and whose side is Jaime really on? Will he stay by Brienne's side or will he and Tyrion shift to the dark side for family?
