Game of Thrones: Maisie Williams feels Arya Stark is 'like Dora the Explorer with her new bob'; Here's WHY
Game of Thrones ended its run in May this year. The show ended with all the Stark kids going their separate ways. Maisie Williams recently spoke about Arya Stark at the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 and compared her to Dora the Explorer.
Trust Maisie Williams to give a wacky answer with a Nickelodeon reference when asked about Arya Stark. The British actress recently joined a few prominent Game of Thrones cast members for a special Hall H panel in San Diego Comic-Con 2019. She was seen taking over the panel with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark), Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) and Conleth Hill (Varys). Together the cast tackled questions about the controversial endings to characters, plot holes and more.
Amidst the numerous questions, Maisie was asked about her thoughts on her character Arya Stark's future. The last time we saw Arya, the Stark daughter made the internet go wild by killing the Night King and eventually bid adieu to Jon Snow, Sansa Stark and Bran Stark to explore the west of Westeros. When Maisie appeared on the Comic-Con panel, she was asked her thoughts on where Arya ended up after the events of the finale episode.
According to an E! News report, Maisie compared Arya to Dora the Explorer and assured fans that Arya is having the time of her life. "I'm sure she's having a wonderful time. She's like Dora the Explorer with her new bob," she said. It seems like Maisie agrees with memes floated around after Game of Thrones ended. Fans would remember that several memes floated online comparing to popular kids' show character and the Night Kingslayer. What a nod to the memes!
Well, Dora the Explorer or not, Maisie delivered a mind-blowing performance as Arya Stark in the Game of Thrones finale. As a result, the actress bagged an Emmy nomination this year. Maisie has been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal on the HBO show. She has earned one of the 32 nominations for Game of Thrones at the Emmys this year.
