The eight and final season of Game of Thrones will premiere on April 14, 2019. To keep the fans excited for the upcoming season, the makers of the show introduced a quest for six iron throne replicas all over the world.

Game of Thrones introduces scavenger hunt; Fans go on a quest to discover 6 iron thrones across the world

After waiting for two long years for the hit television show Game of Thrones, fans will finally get to know who sits on the iron throne and rules the seven kingdoms. The final season of the show is less than a month away and the makers have teased the audiences enough with the glimpses of the eight season in their trailers and teasers. Taking the excitement of the upcoming season to the next level, HBO has introduced a scavenger hunt for fans across the world.

In the quest for the throne, the makers have challenged fans to go on a search for six iron throne replicas which are hidden in different parts of the world. The official Twitter account of Game of Thrones declared the hunt on March 18 with a photo of a throne in the woods. They captioned it as, "Seek the Weirwood in this Kingdom on Earth. Begin your Quest #ForTheThrone”. Within days, the first five thrones were discovered. The first one was discovered by Alex Bowring and Tom Maullin-Sapey of Oxford in the Forest of Dean in Puzzlewood, UK. The second one named as the Throne of the North was found in Swedish ski resort of Björkliden; Castillo de Atienza found the Throne of Joy in Spain, while Throne of Valyria was discovered in Beberibe, Brazil. The fifth one was the Throne of Ice which was kept hidden in Babcock Creek in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, Canada.

People who discovered the thrones were gifted special crowns. The sixth and final throne is yet to be tracked. According to the official website of the hunt, fans only have six days to find and claim the last throne. It will be interesting to see who claims the final iron throne and in which part of the world. Game of Thrones season 8 will premiere on April 14, 2019.
