Game of Thrones: Saddest deaths in the series which had everyone mourning for the dead

The popular HBO series Game of Thrones is one of the most watched television series around the world. The show is known for its violent scenes and use of gratuitous nudity in its episodes. The show has some of the most finely executed characters as well as war sequences too which have always made the audiences awestruck. But what makes the show more intereting is the sudden killing of certain characters who, in the eyes of the audiences, happen to be some of the main characters in the show who are least expected to die. Moreover, the characters are killed in different manners, for instance, some are killed at their own wedding, some are killed in bed while some are killed while eating something. 

There were certain deaths which were completely rejoiced by the audiences. For instance, when the evil Ramsay Bolton was fed to his own dogs, everyone rejoiced. The same happened with the deaths of Joffrey and Littlefinger. However, there were certain deaths in the series which made the audiences shed tears. Here is a list of some of those deaths:

Ned Stark: This righteous ruler was betrayed and executed by his former friend's men in front of the public, including his daugters, Arya and Sansa. 

Shireen Baratheon: This innocent soul, who was already suffering from the deadly greyscale infliction, got burnt alive as a sacrifice by her own father, Stannis Baratheon on the instruction given by the red woman Melisandre. 

Hodor: This giant man with an innocent soul dies while trying to save Bran from the wights. 

Wun Wun: This giant gets killed while trying to enter Ramsay Bolton's castle in order to capture him. 

Catelyn Stark, Robb Stark, Talisa and the direwolf: This is one of the saddest moments in the entire series when Catelyn had to see the death of her son Robb along with his pregnant wife Talisa and the direwolf before getting killed herself. 

Ygritte: Ygritte, the love of Jon Snow dies when suddenly an arrow strikes her during the battle between the Men of the Night Watch and the Wildlings. 

Khal Drogo: This man dies a slow death after getting infected after a duel but not before making Danaerys the Mother of the Dragons through his death pyre.
