Game of Thrones reached its pinnacle climax in May 2019 when the final episode of the iconic series was aired. While some were happy with how things ended, the majority were left disappointed with season 8. However, the cast members have been backing up David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who are being blamed for the poor writing. These actors include Kit Harington, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Sophie Turner. Joining the bandwagon is Gwendoline Christie, who we know as Brienne of Tarth, as she shared her happiness with how things ended for her character.
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Gwendoline was asked how she felt with Brienne's ending. To this, the actress shared, "I was really delighted by it. We saw a woman who decided to take control of her own destiny from the very beginning. We saw a woman who wanted to be a member of the Kingsguard, and she ends up being not just a member of the Kingsguard, but ends up as the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard." Furthermore, Christie spoke about how Brienne allowed herself to have an intimate experience, of her choosing and also took responsibility for any potential outcomes of it.
"She allows herself to be vulnerable and emotional," Gwendoline added.
