It was the first San Diego Comic-Con since Walt Disney acquired Fox and gave Marvel Studios access to the X-Men universe and Fantastic Four. So, fans were expecting some mind-blowing announcements about the new X-Men universe. However, it wasn't the case. SDCC concluded over the weekend and gave us a look at Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 4. The new movie announcements made included Blade, Black Widow, The Eternals, Doctor Strange and The Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder. However, fans were disappointed in learning that no X-Men movie was named. Not even Deadpool 3.

The Ryan Reynolds starrer was previously teased to have a third installment. But since the acquisition, gloomy cloud looms over the third Deadpool movie. Given there has been no announcement whatsoever, fans have been worried about the future of Deadpool. However, David Leitch is hopeful that Marvel Studios will come through. Speaking to Uproxx, the filmmaker shared his reaction.

"I don’t, honestly. And it’s not for my lack of trying. And I also want to give – I’m just giving everybody their time," he said when asked about if he knew what was going on in the minds of the Disney/Marvel Studios heads. "It is. And I know Marvel announced their slate and I think people were like, “Deadpool’s not on it.” I would never say never. And I think, obviously, he’s such a beloved character and it’s such a compelling world people want to go back. And I think they will find a way to do it," he shared.

"But I’m just being patient and let everybody take a breath and see how it works for them in the new Marvel, Disney world. And, hopefully, I’ll get the call. And that would be cool," he added. "I’m sure there are people who want it more than me, but it would be hard-pressed to find them. I love that world. I love working with Ryan. I love that character, Deadpool. So, fingers crossed we get to bring another installment to life," David shared.
