CM Punk approached to be a part of WWE Backstage? DEETS INSIDE
CM Punk, former WWE employee, has been approached to be a part of FOX's WWE Backstage, which is being hosted by Renee Young and Booker T. Read below to know more about the meeting that took place between CM Punk and FOX.
There was a time in WWE, before Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, when the company was dominated by the Straight Edge Superstar, CM Punk. After years of being neglected, Phil Brooks took it upon himself to give fans an unforgettable moment with his first-ever 'shoot' pipebomb promo on Monday Night Raw that helped to usher in what would now come to be known as The Summer of Punk. But a few years later, owing to ongoing conflicts with management, Phill Brooks kissed WWE goodbye and instead tried his hands at MMA.
Ever since All Elite Wrestling has come into the picture, rumours are rife that CM Punk could be joining either AEW or make his much-awaited return to WWE. Now, for some latest developments, it looks like the wrestler will be indeed coming back to WWE, but it's not what you think! According to PWInsider, Punk was in Los Angeles, California this week to have a meeting with FOX, where SmackDown Live will premiere from October 4, 2019, to discuss featuring in WWE's studio show, WWE Backstage.
While WWE Backstage will be produced by FOX and not WWE, CM Punk will still have to discuss his former company. During the meeting, Punk also took part in some on-camera testing for the show, which will be hosted by Renee Young and Booker T. Renee was apparently present during CM Punk's testing.
