There was a time in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) where the only female superhero was Black Widow (played by Scarlett Johansson). Cut to Avengers: Endgame, which had an insanely awesome A-Force moment where the women of MCU showed their worth and helped in defeating Thanos. With the huge successes of recent women superhero-centric films like Wonder Woman (2017) and Captain Marvel, the MCU is bucking up and it showed during Marvel Studios Hall H panel at the San Diego Comic Con 2019.

Not only will we finally have a standalone film on Black Widow, but we will also get to witness Female Thor as Natalie Portman returns in Thor: Love and Thunder. There's also the fact that Valkyrie (played by Tessa Thompson) will MCU's first LGBTQ superhero. While Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlett Witch will appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we also saw Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek entering the MCU with The Eternals. When Scarlett was asked about the diversity when it came to women characters of the MCU, the actress gushed to E! News, "It was amazing. I mean, there's a lot of women up there that I hugely admire—Angelina, Salma...Rachel, Tessa...Natalie."

Johansson thought it was bananas and very exciting as it grounds the presence of the MCU. The actress found it awesome and about time to see "such a diverse group of people."
